ABOUT US

Louie was adopted in 2019 by me, Antonia, Founder & CEO of Louie's Label.

Originally named Eddie, Louie was found in a box abandoned in a cemetery under the hot Georgia sun, left behind with his two siblings to survive on their own at just a few weeks old. Luckily, a kind man visiting the cemetery heard the puppies and brought Louie and his brother and sister to the local shelter. From there, the shelter connected with Hounds in Pounds (to whom I will be forever grateful) and they transported him north to New Jersey. While I've always had an affection for animals, adopting Louie brought a new level of joy and fulfillment into my life. He is  my constant companion who brightens my days.

Throughout my childhood, our family included two Yorkies, Oliver and Baci, both purchased from breeders. As a child, I was unaware of the implications of purchasing animals from breeders or pet stores. After having done research on the topic, I realized just how impactful adopting from shelters can be- it is life-saving.

Backyard and accredited breeding results in overpopulation, while puppy mills and pet stores maintain harsh and inhumane conditions for their animals. Recognizing that many others might share my initial lack of awareness, I felt compelled to take action. While on my mission to provide education around the benefits of pet adoption, I recognized there was a gap in the market for apparel that not only matched my style, but also supported rescue organizations.

At Louie’s Label, we seek to create timeless pieces that not only look good, but raise awareness about the endless benefits of rescue, while encouraging kindness towards our beloved four-legged companions.

Thank you for your support,

Antonia
